Messages on Black Ops
I approach playing Black Ops a bit different to how I play other multiplayer. In all other games, I’m out to have a fun time and I would prefer if everyone has a fun time rather than just the winning team. Losing a closely fought match can be as fun as winning one at times. In Call of Duty, I assume everyone else in the game is deserving of as much mercy as your average genocidal dictator.
This of course means using grenade launchers, rockets and as many arsehole combos of things I can cook up and using them with as much skill as I can apply (turns out quite a bit in Black Ops). As a result, while committing these atrocities with my friend Simmy, we get a lot of messages. Some are your basic “Fuck you” thing but occasionally we get some hilarious ones (“noob tubing gimp” was a recent one).
Personally, I take them as compliments. I have done well enough that they have taken some time to write a message and insult me. I’ve made them rage hard enough to take personal offence and they want me to know about it.
I’ve also sent replies to some (often provoking them and making them angrier) and the replies back can be just as funny. Today was such an occasion and the reply back prompted me to write this.
I was playing on Grid and scored five kills in two grenade launcher rounds (God bless domination for that) and scored a bunch more throughout the match. What follows is the messages from a guy and my reply.
Him:”noob tube much?”
Me: “Yes. Lots”
Him: “haha. ace reply. all is forgiven”
I don’t regret using the old pro pipe to deliver 40mm packages of joy to him but I do feel a bit of a dick now. Shame he had to be on the other team really.
(Also, I gave up on 30 days of music. Been too concerned with other things lately. Once I get a desktop up and running I might be posting more but until then it’ll be once a blue moon posting)
